The Collective is a new dynamic percussion quintet of like-minded composers, each with his own unique & well-developed voice. The members of the quintet share the common vision that percussion music is a living and breathing entity – one that we need to continue nourishing through the creation and performance of new works. With wide-ranging experiences, each member of the quintet brings something fresh and unique to the table – from Thad Anderson’s multimedia creations and multi-keyboard presentations to Casey Cangelosi’s neo-Romantic masterworks and virtuosic theatrics to Nathan Daughtrey’s chromatic lyricism and sensitive artistry to Dave Hall’s mesmerizing soundscapes and flawless technique to Ricardo Souza’s contemporary Brazilian-American fusion. The result is an inimitable ensemble of musicians at the top of their game creating and performing premiere works for percussion as only composers can – authentically, honestly, and unforgettably.
